A Mother’s Lament

Recently a mother posted the following:

“My 20 year old son died Nov 4, 2010 as a result of overdosing.

“He was convicted for downloading child porn when he was 14 years old. They didn’t arrest him until he turned 18. They said the downloads were stil in his computer, so he could be charged as an adult, even though he had NO downloads after the age of 14.

“The judge could see the reality, yet since he didn’t sentence him to prison, he had to do something impressive so he sentenced him to FORTY years of supervised release. My son could not deal with the feds and their threats, the crazy sex offender therapist, who made him say at every group therapy he got sexual gratification from child porn even though he tried to tell her that was a phase when he was 14 and he had no desire for sex with children. She refused to hear him.

“He begged to take all the tests possible to prove his sexuality didn’t involve children, but he was told “no”. He felt like a reject, freak and a hopeless man with no future.

“The flaws in the laws MUST be reformed. I will fight till the end for his name.”

Our current laws and practices are not protecting our children.
